Purpose of Job
To manufacture detonator cord at the Prima Cord environment.
Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities
- To produce detonating cord of different sizes through different stations from C1 to C6.
- Take powder charge according to cord specification using the correct formula.
- Set up the machines according to the product needed using the correct tooling.
- Recording of log sheets and production tags for traceability.
- Take out samples from each spool for quality check.
- General house keeping.
- Quality inspection, packing, labelling of final product. Record production quantities.
- To do a proper start-up before the beginning of the shift and a proper shut-down at the end of the week or when required.
- Have a full understanding of Epex methodology.
- Be able to work under pressure.
- Be able to work full shifts and overtime.
- Conscientious and diligent.
- Detail oriented.
- Maintain a high standard of integrity.
- Fosters teamwork and collaboration.
- Able to work on your own with little supervision.
Formal Education
Grade 12
Maths and Science as subjects will be an advantage
Operator Cord Plant Minimum Experience
6+ months experience in Explosives manufacturing
Cord Plant experience will be an advantage
