Description
To guarantee the timely and high-quality achievement of all planned operational targets for tailings deposition as required by contractual obligations.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the team leader/supervisor to achieve planned operational targets.
- Conduct daily inspections of designated areas of responsibility.
- Plan and manage the deposition of tailings material on site and at depositing areas.
- Assist in problem solving for operational challenges and report any deviations to the immediate supervisor.
- Follow discipline procedures in accordance with the company’s Policies and Procedures.
- Adhere to safety rules, regulations, legislation, and company procedures.
- Extend and connect pipelines as required.
- Open and close valves in line with operational requirements.
Qualifications Required:
- Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
Requirements:
- Background or experience in Tailings Dam Operation or mining industry for at least 2 years will be advantageous.
Skills, Qualities, and Abilities Required:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good planning and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work well in a team environment while being observant of surroundings.
General Requirements:
- Have an understanding of relevant Standard Operating Procedures
- Must be medically fit to work in a mining environment
- Required to pass the mine’s criminal screening process
- Medically Fit
- May be required to work overtime from time to time

Team Leader
Description
This position is responsible for overseeing the execution of the deposition plan through activities planning, resource organization, task delegation, personnel leadership, and risk and deviation control. The main objective is to ensure the successful achievement of the deposition plan.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate shifts
- Perform daily inspections in designated areas of responsibility
- Plan and manage tailings material on-site and at deposition areas
- Follow work instructions provided by superiors for specific tasks aligned with operational requirements and work plans
- Assist in problem-solving operational challenges and report any deviations to immediate supervisor
- Adhere to discipline procedures in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Manage team discipline and performance
- Manage company property and assets responsibly
- Maintain good housekeeping standards and promote teamwork
- Comply with all safety rules, regulationsand procedures as mandated by safety legislation and company policies
- Ensure that employees work safely and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Conduct toolbox talk meetings and ensure team conducts risk assessments for tasks
Qualifications Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Grade 12 /Matric)
- Valid Code 10 Driver’s License
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mining operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
Skills, Qualities and Abilities Required:
- Medically fit with no criminal record
- Ability to pass Dover test
